Easy-Life Catappa X is a natural extract derived from Catappa (Indian almond) leaves.
Catappa leaves have been used in the hobby for a long time as a natural health booster for shrimp, bettas and other fish species that enjoy a ‘black water’ environment. Traditionally dried Indian almond leaves are used to create the same effect however the decaying plant material tends to discolour the water creating a yellowish brown tint which some aquarists find unappealing.
Catappa X filters out the decaying organic compound while keeping the tannic acid which provides the beneficial effect of Indian almond leaves without discolouring the water.
Product benefits
- Fish and shrimp have more vibrant colours
- Improves the general health of the living creatures
- Prevents diseases
- Does not turn the water brown
- No extra organic contamination
Leaves from the Catappa tree are known for their healing effect on fish and shrimp: they lower germ density (fewer pathogens), prevent fungal infections, improve growth, prevent problems with the slime coat and stimulate vitality and colouring of shrimp and fish.
The leaves of the Catappa tree release healing substances when they are immersed in water. The disadvantage of doing so is that, in time, they decompose, which results in the release of organic compounds. This has a number of unpleasant side effects: it turns the water brown and the released organic compounds contaminate the water.
Catappa-X is the answer to these problems. It does not discolour nor contaminate the water and it lowers the bacterial count, which greatly reduces the chance of disease. Catappa-X allows fish and shrimps to flourish and have more vibrant colours.
Catappa leaves are also known as IAL or Indian Almond Leaves and have natural medicinal properties. Blackwater has often been used as a breeding aid as it adds humic acids to the water. In nature during the wet season when the storms start, the rain will fall not only in the river waterway but also in the surrounding area which includes dense forestries where the water would pass and through the fallen foliage sending black water to the rivers.
